End Of Life-Cycle Analysis
Situation
Action
-
Faced with a corporate directive to remove "slow-moving" part numbers from the line, I realized there was no quantifiable method to analyze candidates for removal.
-
I developed an end of lifecycle analysis tool that took into account all critical elements of the part: Sales, margin, EBIT, carrying costs MOQ, competitive position, trends, product age, etc.
Result
-
The data yielded a go-no-go decision based on relevant facts. It also resulted in pricing opportunities or supply chain decisions (re-sourcing) Part removal decisions were based on fact.
